Personal voice bank and synthesis in your own voice
Records and keeps a person's voice while it is still available, so it can be used in the communicator when it no longer is.
In motor neurone disease the useful window for recording your own voice is short, and it is often recognised too late. VoceMia structures that work into short, sustainable sessions, with sentences chosen to cover the sounds of the language, and keeps track of the quality of what has already been collected.
The program shows at every moment how much of the phonetic repertoire is covered and which sessions are worth repeating. All processing happens on the person's own computer: recordings are never uploaded to any external service, because a person's voice is among the most intimate personal data there is.
The resulting voice bank is used directly in TabTalk. The version is still beta: the quality of the synthesis depends heavily on how many recordings there are and how clean they are, and we say so openly to anyone deciding to start.
People with a diagnosis that entails progressive loss of voice, typically MND/ALS, and their families.
10-minute blocks, which can be paused and resumed.
Shows in real time which sounds are still missing.

Captures the person's own characteristic expressions.
The voice bank becomes the communicator's voice.

How the person operates the aid. If the method you need is not listed, write to us: it is often just a matter of an adaptation.
Tell us what you need and where the aid would be used: we reply with a concrete proposal, and if this is not the right product we say so.
